Skybox f5

Hi guys
I'm new to sites like this and don't know where to start !!
I've got a skyboxf5 and I know how to update the channels when I have to. Can you answer me a couple of questions please.

I've had it for almost 12 months. I bought the box and the 12 month gift online will they turn all my channels off after 12 months? If so how do I get them back?

The other thing i wanted to ask is can I view 3d channels on it through my tv ? We've just bought a lg 3d and we know the tv will convert but...

HI there all, my first post so be aware i'm a bit of a noob...
I currently have an Lg smart TV receiving DTV via aerial and connected through Marantz Nr1603 AV receiver to spkr setup. I've just purchased a skybox f5s which worked first time when connected to the Av receiver. Thing is, if i switch the Tv's input back to Aerial input (normal DTV), there is no signal until i turn the F5s off.
The Aerial and Satellite wallplate are a dual stainless steel affair, so i'm wondering if the powered...

Skybox M5 issues

Hi all. A friend of mine bought a new M5 Skybox. When he tries to connect to wifi it will not connect so he removed all the settings on his router and tried again. This time the box found his wifi but the remote stopped working. If he disconnects it works again. When the box is connected to the suppliers wifi it works perfectly. Any suggestions ?

Hi there,

Looking for some much needed advice please.

I bought the F5s at the weekend and has been working fine until last night when I moved the sky+hd box into my bedroom once I had a new twin cable running from my dish.

The guy replaced the existing lnb with an Octo lnb, fitted the sky+ box and that works fine. However, now I dont get the movie channels on my F5s but the other channels seem fine, a couple of music channels aside.

can someone please offer some advice as I am a complete...

no signal fix type leads or attenuator

I have been having a problem with an f5s. I have been recomended to get a "no signal fix" type lead from fleebay.
To those who know about electrical items, would an attenuator perform the same job or are these items for completly different purposes?

Attenuators seem built better and are cheaper than these "no signal fix" type leads, and so may be a better option if they perform the same job.

Is the Skybox/Openbox worth my money?

Hello everybody,

In the near future I'll have some money, and I want to upgrade my equipment, since my receiver is about 10 years old.

I looked at Ebay, and I've seen that the Skybox (and Openbox too) is not so expensive, and they are HD receivers.

But, before throwing some cash buying one of these, I want to know if the Skybox is a good HD receiver and it's worth my money :)

Received my skybox f5 and having absolutely no luck with it. Keeps saying no signal, this is only strange as I tested my friends skybox a week earlier and found no issues at all.

Any help would be great

Hope some one may be able to help me. I notice quite a few people on the forum have one of these receivers. Are they OK for reception of Multi satellites or for just 28.2 east?
If they are suitable for multi satellite do they come programmed as such? I see there is a Sky Box F5. Is this just an updated version??
I would like multi satellite if possible... Perhaps a recommendation of a similar box if these are not capable.

Skybox F5S: New user.

Recently purchased a Skybox F5S, and apart from an initial fault with the 12 volt adapter which is hopefully being replaced by the seller all is well, apart from:-

1. Clock.
As others have reported the clock runs slow, in my case just over 5 minutes every 24 hours.
I've set up 2 daily “channel” timers(12 hours apart) for 2 minute duration to wake up the box and correct the time, then all “record” timers are set to start 3 minutes before scheduled time, hopefully so as not to miss the start of...

F5S: Unable to timer record HD channels.

The box refuses to record HD channels.

When setting up a SD timer:-

Works perfectly.

But when setting a timer which involves an HD channel, the “PS Record” line is greyed out
and although the box wakes from standby as expected it fails to record.

I can do an instant record while watching a HD channel but the following message momentarily shows on the screen.
H264 only supports TS...

Skybox f5s No Signal

Hi I'm new here and a complete beginner when it comes to all this talk. But basically I have a f5s box with €€€ channels. I have a sky hd box in my sitting room and the f5 when plugged in there works.

But in my room where I originally had a skybox with fta channels on it the f5 will only work if the skybox Is plugged out downstairs.

Basically when two boxes are on I get a no signal sign on my f5 box upstairs. Anyone any info atal?

Just got one of these for Multi Sat. Seems to have filled up very quickly!
Anyone know if there is a channel limit. I guess so.

Skybox now rebranded to LibertView

As per title Skybox have now rebranded their range as Libertview after pressure by S*y. One report suggests that this for the UK market only.

Have just received a Libertview F5s which seems identical to the Skybox F5S although apparently the firmware is not identical/interchangeable for the two boxes.

Trying to find a spare USB stick to flash new firmware as it didn't come with any access through the menus to network settings, CAMs or Youtube. Will post further when I have made more progress....

Having briefly been called Libertview, the former Skybox range have now reverted to the somewhat catchier Openbox name.

Hence Skybox F5S = Openbox V5S

F5S Openbox Connectons

I have just bough a F5S Openbox for Sky TV and it came with a user manual but no instruction manual, it says its a plug in and play but the problem is it doesnt tell me which cables to fit where.
The TV is HDMI and I have all the cables including the Ethernet cable but cant find anywhere wher it says which are the correct cables to install the box, Can anyone help.

Which SkyBox to get?

I have been using an Eagle Linux box for a little while.

I don't do anything exciting with it, just watch TV.

I am thinking of getting a HD box and have come across these SkyBoxes.

Can any of you please give me a basic difference between the range ?

PVR is nice to have but unless it actually works as advertised, I would probably pull the rest of my hair out.

Looking for a decent quality picture.

Any help would be great

Got a new x5 but find it has new firmware on it and none of the old patches work and codes for access dont work.
Any one with the same problem or a solution.
